Grazing at the Grazing Shed

In need of some decent fast food – without the worry about what’s actually in that burger or where it came from? Then the Grazing Shed is the place.

It’s basically burgers and chips, but the Grazing shed’s USP is the locally sourced produce. They’re not going for the typical fast food customers, which can be evidenced by the selection of soft drinks – think elderflower cordial rather than coke. They also sell beers (hurrah).

The Grazing Shed motto is; Eat Local, Eat Quality, East Fast! The decor is funky, the food is great and I’d recommend it if you’re in town and looking for a quick bite.

We both went for the veggie burgers – me the Hell Fire Hippy (nice amount of spice balanced by an avocado mash) and my husband the Naughty Shepherd. The veggie burgers were great, with a good amount of whole beans in them (hate it when veggie burgers are just mush). I just loved the avocado mash included and am already planning my next visit to try a meat option (they do chicken and beef burgers too). Not sure if I’ll ever be brave enough to try the Yokozuna! burger – with sesame and ginger infused teriyaki sauce and wasabi mayo, but you never know….

The Grazing Shed is located on Barrack Lane, at the back of St Davids 2 – between the Red Hot Buffet and Bellinis (note – I remember when this used to be a market and I was reassured to note that Minsky’s is still there and going strong!) That’s right by the cinema too – so perfect if you’re off to catch a film.

Update

Since originally writing this post I’ve tried both the chicken and beef burgers – both were yummy. A special mention for the beef Uncle Pedro which has a great chilli kick. I’m also told they now have heaters in the restaurant, as it was a bit chilly for these winter nights!
